overview:
This programme is composed of high-level postgraduate courses taught in English. It is designed to provide students with advanced and interdisciplinary knowledge of contemporary European affairs. The programme focuses on the  political, legal, social as well as cultural and economic aspects of EU enlargement, with special attention paid to the challenges faced by countries of Central and Eastern Europe at the beginning of the 21st century.
 
Specializations:

  • EU Studies Specialisation - this track focuses on the European Union, its institutions and functions, as well as the key issues facing it in contemporary times.
  • Central and Eastern European Studies Specialisation – this specialization provides CES students with a unique academic skill set, which helps identify the situated characteris-tics of the region and its relationship to the European Union.
  • Europeanisation and Governance in Central and Eastern Europe Specialisation – builds an understanding of the processes of Europeanisation and democratisation in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as integration mechanisms.
  • Studies in the Holocaust and Totalitarian Systems Specialisation - this specialty outlines the genesis of national and religious conflicts in the contemporary world and the mechanisms used to create the structure of a totalitarian state.
  • Central and Eastern European Studies: Research Track

    Students will gain wide knowledge about Central and Eastern Europe matters from social, economical, political and cultural perspective combined with practical courses about professional research know-how, management and usage.

programme duration: two years (4 semesters)

suitable for: This programme is designed to attract students who are interested in a multidimensional analysis of the political, social, historical, cultural and economic aspects that shape the current position of Europe as an arena of internal and global interactions. It is also suitable for students who would like to pursue a career in political and public institutions, non-governmental and civil society organizations as well as in business and the financial sector. This programme prepares students for further academic study through a PhD programme.
