overview:
Polish-French double degree programme, jointly run by the Institute of European Studies UJ and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques at the University of Strasbourg – two institutions which both have a widely renowned reputation in the field of European Studies. The first year takes place at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (IE). Selected students follow a course of studies particular to European Studies, and all courses are run in English. The second year of studies takes place at the University of Strasbourg (IEP).
The programme provides a good foundation of professional skills that are required at the level of the European Union and its institutional framework, multi-disciplinary competencies in the field of European public policies, as well as a knowledge base of the challenges faced by Central and Eastern European member states after their accession to the EU.

programme duration: two years (4 semesters)

suitable for: The programme is directed at students with a bachelors degree with basic knowledge of the functioning of European Union institutions as well as a background in the social sciences.  The recruitment process at the University of Strasbourg is based on a submitted dossier (application) and formal interview. At the Jagiellonian University students are accepted on the basis of an entrance exam in Polish – the same as for all Polish full-time studies – as well as an interview to verify the motivations of the candidate and their knowledge of French and English, which are prerequisites for participation in the programme.
